Summer of Innovation
Summer of Innovation showcases programs that revolve around innovation, technology, entrepreneurship and creativity. It expanded to involve the greater Lebanese population, working with groups and startups on a variety of events that spanned across Lebanon.
Bawabat Al Ibtikar
Bawabet Al Ibtikar is designed to drive STEAM activities targeting public school students through a connected and structured setting managed by the schools themselves with the support of public and private sector stakeholders, as well as IDEAS. A joint collaboration between the private and public sector, preparing students for the needs of the digital/knowledge economy by stimulating critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. This pilot will run in greater Beirut area, Saida, Aley, and Chekka.

Serail Creativity Hub
The Serail Creativity Hall is a digital oasis being built in the heart of the Grand Serail. It will serve as a hub for creativity in all its facets whether through technological breakthroughs, innovative developments from the academic, commercial, or even artistic fields. It will also be the core national data center hosting structured, geo-enabled data on the nation that is easily accessible to the public. The Serail Creativity Hall will be the nation’s beacon for technological change and innovation.
Serail Internship Program
The Serail internship program ran for the first time in the summer of 2017 with seven interns from a variety of backgrounds. The following year’s SOI initiative led to the permanent hiring of some of the program’s interns by IDEAS.

Startup Ecosystem Mapping
Research on the eco-system that is conducive to fostering the growth and success of startups in Lebanon is an ongoing activity at IDEAS. Information about the ecosystem’s players, their role in the evolution of startups as well as the resultant success stories, lessons learned, their activity, public events held, declared milestones and the overall impact of their projects on Lebanon’s startup economy and opportunity creation is a constant endeavor.
