Bawabet Al Ibtikar is designed to drive STEAM activities targeting public school students through a connected and structured setting managed by the schools themselves with the support of public and private sector stakeholders, as well as IDEAS. A joint collaboration between the private and public sector, preparing students for the needs of the digital/knowledge economy by stimulating critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. This pilot is currently running in greater Beirut area, Saida, Aley, and Chekka.
Bawabat-Al-Ibtikar
The Innovation Gate program, otherwise known as Bawabat Al Ibtikar, aims to establish early cognitive capabilities for public school students by creating innovative spaces that integrate technology with education through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities, Innovation Gate adds a necessary progressive dimension to learning that is totally absent in Lebanon’s public school system.
The Association of Ideas that Accelerate Growth (IDEAS) is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), the Ministry of Telecommunications as well as a host of training and content delivery partners to create innovative spaces in Lebanese public schools that integrate technology with education through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities
The extra-curricular model paves the way to technology integration that will allow enhancement and support learning within the public school. The Pilot Project BawabatAl Ibtikar is designed to drive STEAM activities and instructions to students in all public schools through a connected and structured setting managed by the schools themselves with the support of public and private sector stakeholders, as well as IDEAS.
The activities conducted in the space will prepare Lebanese students for the needs of the digital/knowledge economy by stimulating critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Furthermore, this innovative portal will enable and allow students to engage, explore, experience, and become exposed to coding and robotics skill sets, which they can tie back to pragmatic real-world projects.
